Concierge Medicine Is Now Available in South Jersey.

Bala Cynwyd, PA, October 30, 2007
Total Access Medical, LLC (TAM) is proud to announce that Frank P. Pettinelli Jr., D.O., has begun offering concierge medical services. Practicing family medicine for more than 23 years, Dr. Pettinelli has served the Mt. Laurel, NJ community since joining his father’s practice in 1984.

Dr. Pettinelli recently entered into a partnership with Total Access Medical, the region’s leading concierge medical management company. Dr. Pettinelli marks the fifth TAM affiliated physician in the tri-state area, and the first in New Jersey.

Concierge Medicine continues to flourish as a new and uniquely dedicated approach to medical care; re-establishing the traditional doctor/patient relationship. For an annual fee typically starting around $2,000 (independent from traditional insurance plans), patients are enrolled in a concierge practice with participating physicians. There is some controversy swirling around the growing popularity of concierge medical practices and the ethics involved with retainer medicine, yet for those being cared for by affiliated physicians in the TAM program, the “VIP” care they receive is well worth the price.

“Total Access Medical provides my family the kind of peace of mind you can’t put a price tag on. We are being cared for by the region’s best physicians, whose primary interests are in assuring our well being. This departure from our former doctor’s office, where we were treated as one of thousands, is something we have been longing for quite some time,” said Michael Levin, a Total Access Medical patient since 2003.

Dr. Pettinelli’s patients, as well as all patients being cared for by TAM physicians, receive clinical and non-clinical amenities including: 24/7 direct access to a patient’s physician (via cell phone and e-mail), same day/walk-in appointments, house calls, personal condition-specific education, one-on-one and family counseling, and extended physicals. This is in addition to prompt follow-up with specialists and the facilitation of hospital and emergency care, allowing TAM affiliated physicians to truly manage a patient’s entire health care regimen.

The objective of this program is to bring the traditional patient/doctor relationship into a modern medical setting, allowing patients to be treated without the anxiety of being “rushed” or feeling “unimportant”, while doctors take the necessary time to thoroughly examine, diagnose, and treat illnesses. To put this program into perspective; a traditional family practitioner cares for between 1,000 and 4,000 patients, while a physician practicing concierge medicine cares for 300 to 600 patients — a significant difference, allowing unprecedented access to quality, comprehensive care.

Dr. Pettinelli states, “I am looking forward to practicing medicine as it used to be, wherein a physician could treat the whole patient by spending the necessary time in order to do so. By putting the patient first and emphasizing quality and prevention, concierge medicine allows me to practice the kind of medicine that should be practiced.”

Since joining his father’s practice in 1984, Dr. Pettinelli’s Mt. Laurel practice has been one of the most respected in the region. Dr. Pettinelli brings an unparalleled level of experience to both his patients and the TAM team with over 20 years of Board Certified Family Practice and Geriatrics. He is part of the American Medical Directors Association, American Osteopathic Association, American Medical Association, and New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons.

When asked what attracted him to Total Access Medical, Pettinelli replied, “TAM is a highly professional group. They pioneered the concierge medicine concept in the Philadelphia area and have since taken the concept of personalized medicine to the next level. They have spent the time and resources to build an excellent team and patient care program, and have the same unwavering commitment to quality that I do. I am delighted to become a Total Access Medical affiliated physician.”

According to TAM President, Richard Stamps, “Dr. Pettinelli is an excellent doctor, with an impeccable reputation in the medical community. We are delighted that he is joining our group. He has a passion for quality patient care and understands the importance of communication and respect, encouraging a strong patient/physician relationship. Dr. Pettinelli strengthens our continued commitment to providing patients with exceptional access to medical excellence in this region.”

Founded in 2002, Total Access Medical, LLC is a leading concierge medical management company focused on quality medical care and attention for subscribing patients through their network of affiliated primary care physicians. Each carefully selected physician agrees to reduce their current practice size to a select number of patients in order to provide devoted medical services with an old fashioned touch.
