To my Valued Patients and Friends,

I am writing this letter to let you know that, after twelve years, I have decided to leave Main Line HealthCare Internal Medicine at Lawrence Park and open my own private practice in Bala Cynwyd. My new practice will be located at 191 Presidential Blvd. Suite C133, and will open September 4, 2018. My last day with Main Line HealthCare will be August 31. I will remain on staff at Lankenau Hospital and will continue to be an active member of the Main Line Health medical community.

In a separate letter, MLHC will detail how my colleagues, Elyse Rosenthal, D.O., and Gabrielle Santarelli, D.O., as well as a third physician who is actively being recruited, will be available to very ably assume your care should you choose to remain at Lawrence Park.

In this ever-changing medical landscape, I believe that this new endeavor will allow me to continue to offer the best possible care to my patients, not only as your primary care physician, but as a personal health advocate dedicated to maximizing all aspects of your individual interaction with the health care system. Above all, this new practice will help preserve what I feel is the central aspect of our relationship — the trust and mutual understanding that I hope we have developed over these last 12 years. In order to provide this, the practice will follow a model that some of you may have previously heard referred to as “concierge”, “boutique” or “direct primary care”.

You may find information about my new practice at www.rogerstumachermd.com. There you will find details about how the practice interacts with traditional insurance, a list of program features and benefits, a membership fee schedule and the steps to take to enroll. Please note that my new practice will have a limited patient panel. As an existing patient, you will be given priority and offered a pre-enrollment discount before the practice is open to the public.

I realize that you may have many questions related to my new practice. I welcome and encourage you to call my new colleagues at Total Access Medical at 610-667-9980 to talk about the program in further detail. If you prefer, you may also email your questions to them at r.stumacher.md@gmail.com.

I hope that the gift you have given to me all these years of entrusting me with your medical care will continue. I realize, however, that no matter how much you value our relationship and the care with which I have approached our visits and interactions together, for some of you this new model may not be one that fits at this time. Should you make the decision not to enroll, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for having allowed me the responsibility and dignity of playing a role in your health care. As my late father — who was a physician and the reason I went into medicine, and whom I think about every day — used to say, it has been an honor and a privilege to be your doctor. Our relationship is very special to me and I hope that it continues for many years to come.

With warmest regards,

Roger Stumacher, M.D.
